Monsoon period,Every one should take care in  this season.A wet season,the moisture ,rains make hell in the kitchen with inconvenient and intolerable smell.But by following some precautions we can avoid them.

  • The kitchen platform should be cleaned by a towel dipped in soap water,or else the oil and greasy marks will  be left there itself.Then the flies and mosquitoes problem will also be solved  .
  • Wash the napkins used in kitchen in hot soapy water frequently.The sink in the kitchen should be cleaned daily without fail.
  • Kitchen  windows and almirahs ,should also be cleaned with a cloth.They should be cleaned thoroughly and out of moisture.The oven ,fridge, grinder etc electric appliances should be cleaned with a dry cloth.
  • Open the windoors and doors of the kitchen for sometime in the morning time,fresh air passes through the room.
Tips to be followed:
  • When fries and spicy items are prepared ,and the kitchen is full of smoke and spicy odour,then place  pieces of apple and pour a few drops of hot oil,then a nice fragrance will be circulated throughout the kitchen.
  • Boil a few lemon rinds in a bowl of water without keeping a lid on it.When the water starts boiling a nice aroma will be circulated and linger in the kitchen.
  • Place cardamom,cloves  or cinnamon stick in a bowl of water and boil it.A good aroma  will be passed in the kitchen.
  • Place a scented agarbathi after the cooking is completed,it gives and circulates the whole house.

HOME TIPS
A few kitchen tips shared here:

  • To remove the skin from almonds easily,wash and soak in hot water for 15 minutes.
  • Shortage of chilllllllllllllled cool drinks to serve forunexpected guests.Then follow  this tip.Place cool drink bottles,in a large vessel.Add ice cubes in to the vessel,and add half a cup of salt in to  the ice,mix well,and keep the vessel in the fridge.In 5to 6minutes chilled drinks are ready.
  • Apply a little amount of lime juice,to the apple slice,immediately after slicing it.The colour will not turn black.
  • To store corriander leaves and pudina leaves for more days,store them in thin cloth and store in fridge.
  • While soaking rice and urad dal for dosas ,add 1 tsp of methi seeds,the dosas will be crispy.
  • While preparing for  noodles,after boiling the noodles drain off the hot water,and immediately add cool water to the noodles . They remain seperately,and they do not stick together.
  • To keep the paneer soft,after turning them in to paneer,immediately strain the water and add cool water,it will remain soft.
  • While popping up the pop corns,fry the freezer stored pop corns directly ,they pop up well.
  • Dont store aloo and onion together.Coz the aloo will spoil very fastly.
  • To keep the curds fresh without sourness,add water to the curd fully,then change the water daily and add new water.It willnot turn sour.
  • Vegetables can be stored fresh for many days,after reading your news paper,make paper bags by using stapler pins  and prepare a paper bag and store veg in it.Chop the veg before cooking,as all the nutrients will be lost if chopped very earlier.
  • Dont store your pickle with a stainless spoon with in,the pickle may be spoiled.
  • If tomatoes are not handy in the home,then instead of postponing the cooking add tomato sauce or tomato ketchup in your dish. It makes no differance.
  • If there is no milk cream for adding in to the soup or gravy,then beat butter and milk together and add it,this mixture acts as milk cream.

SHOES AND SLIPPERS:

  • Shoes and slippers are to be kept on a stand.If there is no stand faccility keep them in a box.
  • Whether shoe stand or a shoebox,nomatter but it should be placed on a plastic sheet .
  • The dust will be stored on it,so it will be easy for every 2 to 3 days to clean it.
  • Asmall stool should be in handy near the shoestand,so it will be easy to wear the shoes by sitting on it.
FOOT CARE:
  • While working inside the home or cooking or gardening wear soft slippers made by sponge.
  • Atleast for  a week pay attention to do pedicure urself.If not pedicure try to wash feet by soaking them in luke warm soapy water.
  • Rub the feet and ankles with a pumice stone,so that the dirt will be removed.
  • Daily apply ahandcream along with lime juice ,so that the feet will become smoother.
  • If the feet are cracked apply petroleum jelly,massage the feet and wear socks while sleeping
  • Trim the nails of toes every week.

HOME TIPS:

  • The door frames,doors , window frames and window glasses should be cleaned first with a cloth.Lastly wipe off with a paper.
  • The house plants should be watered in the early morning,or in the evenings after 5 pm.In summer water them in the evenings,and give a light shower in the mornings.
  •  The fridge, safety lockers and iron safes are to be cleaned first with a wet cloth dipped in soap water,then wipe off with a dry napkin for sparkling shine.
  • When  ink,coffee and tea spills on the door or window curatains and stains are formed,  then first dip them in coldwater.Then wash with detergent powders.
  • When cleaning hair brushes or combs,add a few drops of anti dandruff shampoo to the water,and soak the combs in them.Then wash them.
  • To maintain the silk sarees shining as new,mash the boiled aloo in to a paste,add in water and soak the sarees in them,and wash.
  • The clothes should be dried in shade coz the colour  may get dull in sunshine.
  • First soak the clothes to be washed in a bucket of water.Then only dip them in soap water and wash them.
  • Silk clothes and shirts ,are to be dried by drying them inside out.
  • To maintain a neat bathroom,keep air freshners.Also keep a cotton wool dipped in phenoil or any cologne.
  • When the bottles are turned dirty from inside the bottle,pour aloo boiled water along with aloo peel in to the bottle and wash them.
  • The tiles and floor in the bathrooms are to be washed with water to which a spoon of kerosene is added .The tiles will be shining.

HOUSE HOLD TIPS:

  • Green peas when stored in a polythene bag in a fridge stays fresh for a long time.
  • Paneer will remain fresh for more days when kept in a blotting paper in the fridge.
  • Kitchen sink when blocked mix 1/2 cup Eating soda,and 1 cup vinegar  together,and pour 1 cup of water in it.It will be cleared in an hour.
  • Semya,,should be roasted on the stove,and stored ,inorder to store it for a long time.
  • Bitter gourd should be chopped and placed in  salt water before cooking,inorder to lessen the bitterness.
  • When cooking daal,add a spoon of oil or ghee toit.It will be cooked softly and quickly.
  • While preparing chapathis ,rotis add a spoon of curds .They will be soft and smooth.
  • While boiling green peas,add a pinch of eating soda,to retain the colour and flavour.
  • For working ladies,clean vegetables,dry them,chop them and store in a airtight container,to retain for long time.
  • Place a piece of Coal in the Tool box,as the coal absorbs the moisture keeping the tools rust free.

  • HOME TIPS
  • To make crispy puris ,add 1 spoon of karachi ravva(upma ravva) per 100 gms of wheat flour.
  • While mixing flour for chappathis,add a little cool milk to the flour.The rotis will be soft.
  • Before cooking cauliflower,place the chopped pieces in boiled salt water,to remove smaller pests if any.
  • Store candles in fridge ,so that the candles will lasts for a longer time.
  • Cover the bookshelves with newspapers.every month while cleaning they will be very easy to remove off the old news papers or else the cleaning will be hectic.
  • For crispy dosas,soak 1 cup urad dal,3 cups of rice,2 spoons methi seeds & 1 spoon tur daal.
  • While cleaning the fridge,wipe off with water to which vinegar and salt are added.The fridge will be germ free.
  • When scars are caused by pen on clothes remove with a cotton wool dipped in spirit.
  • While changing the water (cleaning) in the acquarium pour the water to the plants in your house.
  • While wet clothing the rooms add 2 to 3 tsp of kerosene oil to the water.And while washing the bathrooms add kerosene oil to the water you wash.There will be no trace of ants,flies and mosquitoes.  
  • Use the remaining shredds of the soap(left over last bits) by adding to the hot water,and store in a bottle.Shake well ,use this as a liquid soap.
  • Add a pinch of citric acid crystals to the water in the pressure cooker ,before placing the food containers before cooking.The sourness of the citric acid in the under water  will keep the inside of the cooker shining.Or else add lime shred or a bit tamarind piece instead of citric acid crystals.

HOME TIPS-2 (kitchen)
1.While cooking Leafy Vegetables,add a spoon of Sugar, or a pinch of Salt alongwith  a few drops of Lime juice,to retain the green colour of the Leafy veg.
2.While cooking Cabbage ,add a piece of Ginger while  cooking,to avoid the smell.
3.Battani should be soaked in water for 8 hours ,to get the vitamins,and the nutrients,in it to be multiplied.We get 2 times more nutrition from them by soaking for 8 hrs.
4.Place a few Rice grains in Salt.It absorbs the Moisture in the Salt & remains Dry.
5.Pour the Water used for washing Rice ,Daals and also the Water used for boiling Vegetables in the plants we grow in our homes,especially (karvepaku) Curry leaves plant.
6.While wet grinding for Idli Batter  in a mixie,add Ice water slowly in less quantities, the Idli batter will be fluffy , and Idlis come smoother.
7.To prevent  Rice from becoming a Paste,add a few drops of Lime juice to the Rice before cooking.
8.Another Remedy to get soft Idlis is add Rice Flakes while grinding the Idli Batter.
9.To get a Thicker Soup,add 2 spoons of Milk Cream to the soup after removing from Heat.It will be Tasty too.
10.The double the Candle Light while the Power Cut,place the Lighting Candle before the Mirror.

Home Tips:
1.Place a few Cloves in Sugar Container to prevent from Ants.
2.To store Red Chilli Powder add Tablesalt to it and store.Or else add a small piece of Hing and store it.It remains Fresh for a long time.
3.To prevent Cockroaches in the Kitchens and Bathrooms sprinkle Boric powder in the Room Corners.
4.Remove Stalks from Green chillies and Store them.They remain fresh for many days.
5.To store Corriander leaves and Mint leaves for a longer time,wrap in a Tissue Paper and keep it in Fridge.
6.Mix well Boric powder in Rice,(wash it well before cooking),or place Boric Powder Sachets in Rice.Thisway the Rice can be stored for a long time.
7.Rasam powder and Sambhar powder can be stored in Airtight Containers, in Deep Freezer of a frost free fridge.They remain for a longer time
8.Store Bread along with the Wrapper in Deep Freezer.It remains Fresh.
9.Store Pickles in Plastic or Glass bottles having Plastic Lids.They remain Fresh.
